Planning & Urban Design of Peqin District

Greek philosopher Heraclitus said: “The only constant in life is change.”

Drawing the blueprints for tomorrow’s Peqin district, crafting a future-oriented vision for a modernized community, it is a challenging mission.

Peqin district strives to adhere to the same urban revitalization that already is unfolded in many other Albanian regions.

To Intertwine harmoniously Peqin district the natural blue and green belt, as a single conceptual unity through inspired and audacious solutions, is not question of a fashionable and abstract urban philosophy, but the smart way to build our community.

All Peqin stakeholders should be open minded in bridging ideas, and innovations from across sectors, to tackle challenges facing our community.

We can draw on the expertise and vision of Peqin talented architects and create revitalized and invitational public spaces, enhance, and flourish the lifestyle of our community.

Comprehensive urban plans entail effective land-use founded in a proper economic analysis and adequate master plan oriented toward a modernized agro-tourism region.

Let’s put the past behind us, and with our combined multi-disciplined energy, focus in the present and the future, to realize step by step the potential for prosperity of Peqin district as a unified and dignified urban entity.

Retention of businesses and residents is correlated with maintaining an attractive quality of life, promoting, and instilling an esthetical community identity.

Architectural design approaches that encourage walking and biking through modulated green spaces, local gathering places, recreational natural parks suitable for all ages, transform the “Shkumbin” river waterfront (starting initially with 1.5 km of Peqin city area), reducing the constant and unnecessary need for cars, all the above factors contribute to a healthy and enjoyable living.

Restore and dignify Peqin’s heritage, accelerate the transformation of our urban environment, and harness the momentum for change, are crucial in realizing the vibrancy of a thriving tight-knit community.

Only then, we will modestly deserve the veneration of generations to come.

Our struggle to move forward is not with each other philosophically or politically, but it is with the perplexing challenges inherited by a stratified anachronical mentality.

The opportunity to transform Peqin district as a human, safe, resilient, authentic, and sustainable settlement lay upon all of us today, everywhere we are, and we can take on this challenge.

Peqin is and will remain a generous haven not only for the people of Peqin but for anyone who brings the opportunity or desire to visit it.
Let us work together, even with our differences of opinion, for an aesthetic and modern Peqin.

Time will be the best judge.

Sustainable Project - Design of PEQIN Stadium

The stadium design is a complex process and plays an essential role in the sports life of a city.

Attention towards the stadiums design and construction is constantly increasing due to its effects on the environment and the comfort and sociability of its surrounding inhabitants.

While stadiums represent a neglected sector in Albania, it needs to grow

awareness of their importance in various aspects of the country's development, including economic, historical and social aspects.

This research focuses on the stadium of the city of Peqin, which from time to time has been subject to fragmented developments.

The study methodology includes data collected from archival sources, drawings and design proposals to provide a sustainable solution.

The project proposal of the new stadium over the existing one is based on the principle of sustainability, integrated with complex use approach.

This stadium will have an impact on the development of the inner-city area including multiple socio-economic aspects, beyond sports.
