Karine administrative unit, former municipality in the Elbasan County, consists of the villages: Karinë, Kazije, Rrozej, Progem, Sinametaj, Drangaj and Garunje.

The village is immersed in a stunning panoramic view, the combination of green fields covered with.

It is rightly considered the entrance gate to Peqin city. Karine has historically been associated with Peqin, or rather has been an integral part of a harmonized urban ensemble. As a province, Peqin has traditionally been a well-organized community structure together with Karine, Pajove, Gjocaj, Sheza, Përparim but inherited administrative divisions, unfounded and politically motivated, which have severely fragmented and inhibited the urban development of the province. Historically, Peqin as a province has not been divided into such conventional units as we have today, and the properties of Peqin families have been spread throughout the region. This fact is so true that Peqin and Karine had a common economy. The land found in the vicinity of Peqin represents a valuable asset but has been poorly managed and abandoned by invasions and chaotic urban development, which took the breath away from this town, as in any other place in Albania. This land fund was owned by the group of former cooperative Karine. Karine and Peqini split as an economy after 1965 and since then have been reduced to a small, abandoned economy. Peqin remained a sector of the Elbasan Agricultural Enterprise until the 1980s. Currently Karina, like other units, is experiencing a boom of urban chaos, killing agricultural land and actually hindering the territorial organization of the agricultural sector. Karina is a rich area, with an ideal geographical relief, which enables not only the cultivation of a variety of agricultural products, but also a very favorable area for the increase of olive, viticulture, fruit, and livestock. The post-communist period and emigration created premises for the construction by the inhabitants of the Karina area of villas and houses, which although beautiful and comfortable, from an urban point of view did not reflect a modern functional vision that would serve the configuration of a community nucleus with all the units necessary for the revitalization of community life in each of its cells. In Karine, the construction of a reservoir should be seriously considered, as the geographical structure fully enables such a thing. This reservoir, not only helps the local economy, but at the same time generates a quality source of community life, where the surrounding environment can be used to set up a recreational park by adding other natural decorative elements, (planting trees and decorative flowers, cobblestone structures, children's playground, benches, lighting and a small service unit). Gradually, this combination of natural and artificial elements serves as an initial basis for the establishment of attractive tourist units. Today, when discussing tourism, more and more emphasis is placed on organic adaptation and adaptation to natural elements. Implement a Karina community Infrastructure fund for tourism, to stimulate the local needs of tourism-based economies. Another motivating factor in the development of this area would be the road Karinë - Sinametaj - Ballije - Garunjë - Damarkaj - Run with the branch Ballije - Rrostej - Thartor. Through this artery, it would be easily reached Vrap - Gjysylkonajt - Peze and finally it would realize the early dream of the inhabitants of the province of Peqin, the extension of the road route to connect with the capital of Albania, Tirana. The construction of the connecting road Tirana - Peqin - Lushnje, is an important step in terms of development, and potentially boosts the resources of the area.
